We Find New Homes for All Pedigree Cats: 100% Success Rate.
Our pedigree cats are rehomed online using our considerable pedigree cat expertise and a very personal approach.
Your cat is rehomed from the best place possible - from your own home. You are heavily involved in choosing the new owner.
We are 100% confident in the successful placement of your cat.
12 Years' Experience of Rehoming Pedigree Cats
We have 12 years' experience of stringent vetting of applicants; procedures and requirements are second to none. Vetting is one-to-one and applicants must prove their breed knowledge and show they have a suitable lifestyle which stands up to our scrutiny as well as your own.
We do all the hard work for you, but we give you an equal say in the ultimate approval of the adopter. Vetting of adoption applicants is carried out by Cheryl-Anne Jenkinson, Rescue Manager, without any third party involvements.
We do not bring animals into cold, damp, draughty kennels. They are rehomed from the comfort of their own homes using our expertise to vet all applicants. We liaise with you personally,
Working Together to Rehome Your Pedigree cat
If you use our service to rehome your cat, you are entering into a rehoming partnership; we cannot do it without your help. You will need to hold onto your cat while we advertise him/her. Your opinion in the vetting of applicants is also very important; we value your views.
Where We Advertise Your Pedigree Cat
Your cat will be advertised via this site and via Facebook and the UK's number one rescue and rehoming site, 'Cat Chat'.
Our Facebook page under 'Chapelhouse Persian and Pedigree Rescue' is very popular; it has 2500 fans. We work hard to engage our Fans and to keep them interactive. Once an animal's profile has been posted, we encourage participation.
If you decide to rehome your cat via our Rescue services, you can be confident that your pet will receive maximum publicity.
Our Rescue Manager Cheryl-Anne Jenkinson will find out all about your cat, draft him a detailed profile, get him on Facebook and 'Cat Chat' aswell as our own website, and will liaise with you about progress.
What The Cat-Owner Needs to Do
The cat-owner does not need to do anything apart from keep logging in to email once a day. There will be no contact until we feel we have someone to consider. For roughly every 30-40 enquiries there will usually only be one enquirer we would put forward as a potential adopter.
How Adopters Are Put Forward to Cat-Owners
We will not overwhelm you; we only send you one adopter--the applicant or couple we think is best suited, out of all applicants. As the cat-owner you will be able to see their application form and receive full details of the applicants and their lifestyle.
We also try to obtain photographs of the applicant and their home for you, too. If you agree they sound suitable to meet you and your cat, a mutually agreeable appointment is arranged for the applicant to visit your home.
There is no pressure on you to accept any applicant; it's a two way process. We will repeat the process until the cat-owner is happy the right adopter has been found, but--to reassure you--all our first-suggested applicants have always been accepted thus far.
We think this is a lovely and painless way for animals to get rehomed, and gives owners a chance for some involvement and ongoing contact if desired.
Fees to the Rescue
You need to make a reasonable financial contribution for this service as it is very time consuming. It is not uncommon for Cheryl-Anne to liaise in some depth with up to 30 adopters per animal, before a final applicant is decided upon.
Our current fee, covering all advertising, liaison with adopters, and profile construction, is £100 per animal being rehomed.
A pet-owner needs to pay the fee in advance by Paypal before we can advertise the pet. Please use the link at the bottom of the page.
Risk of Dissatisfaction
We promise every cat-owner using this service that a full refund with no quibble will be given in the event of any pet-owner dissatisfaction with the service, as long as they have given us at least 8 weeks to advertise the cat, and they've provided accurate details and recent photos. It does take time to find the right new owner for pedigree animals--we're looking for the best home, not the fastest!
If finding a home quickly is important please let us know at the start as we may need to look for an equally experienced foster home for the pet, just in case the rehoming doesn't happen quickly enough.
Nobody was ever dissatisfied with the rehoming service to date, and we're confident it never will happen; our standards and Cheryl-Anne's personal level of commitment to each pedigree cat is far too high.

Frequently Asked Questions
I Don't Have a Pedigree Certificate for My Cat
It does not matter if you don't have a pedigree certificate for the animal you are wanting to rehome, as long as you believe that your cat is a recognised pure breed (e.g Persian, Siamese, Chinchilla, Ragdoll, Birman...and so on).
Rehoming Non-Pedigree Cats
We are now happy to advertise and commit to advertising non-pedigree cats too. If you are happy to meet the fee, we are happy to do the work with the same 'full refund' commitment to your satisfaction.
If a non-pedigree cat is advertised with us, we will make stringent efforts to publicise him in all the usual places used by us--Cat Chat, Facebook are the main places--but we will also look for other outlets to get him seen far and wide.
We are sure that our massive Facebook following alone will bring great homes for non-pedigrees too, because many of these homes also have non-pedigrees who are just as vital and special to their owners.
Rehoming Old Cats
We have always been delighted to advertise old cats.
As a rescue we have never believed age to be any barrier to adoption. Genuine cat-lovers choose animals based on personality. We are not looking for shallow new owners whose views are too tainted by age and likely failing health--we're looking for those households who will love their animals no matter what, and who often see greater value in giving old--and even failing--pets great homes.
Old cats will find a good home as long as they are deemed to have a quality of life which makes them eligible for rehoming. Any cat using our service should have been vet-checked in the last six months before we rehome him, so if considering rehoming an old pet then please get him vet-checked and then we will all know what we are dealing with, health-wise.
Once he's been vet-checked, if serious issues didn't emerge then just book your pet in for the online rehoming service and we will be in touch immediately to discuss the health of the pet.
If health issues did emerge in the vet-check and you need to discuss whether these affect the cats chances for rehoming, or his eligibility to be rehomed by us, simply drop an email to ask@chapelhouse-persians.co.uk and we will be happy to discuss. Please don't assume that health problems mean the cat cannot be rehomed with us--if he has quality of life, as determined by a vet, all manner of health issues can be accommodated and we will always find a home with someone who is prepared to take on the health matters. It may just take longer to find the right home--that's the main consideration.
However, we do need cats to be well cared for when owners use the service. Animals may be sick and needing ongoing treatments, but not neglected since we do not want our adopters to be distressed when they make home visits, and we also have standards and a reputation to uphold.
Required Condition of Advertised Cats
Cats need to have no major matting in the coat when seen by adopters. They may have a shaved coat--that is perfectly acceptable for longhaired breeds and will be understood by experienced adopters.
Cats must have seen a vet within the last six months so that we can obtain a veterinary report if necessary.
All cats should have no dental work needing doing at the time of adoption, so this check should be included when the cat is seen by a vet.
Cats who need an outside-going home should be vaccinated, especially if we are looking at homes that have other cats. However, we will also advertise unvaccinated cats as long as you tell us this so that we can advertise the cat honestly.
All cats should have been flea-treated using a veterinary product and must come from a flea-free home. This means a clean home where regular veterinary spray products have been used on carpets and soft furnishings in accordance with directions, as well as products having been applied to the cat.
Rehoming Shy or Aggressive Cats
Aggressive, shy and generally anti-social pedigree cats are fine to be rehomed using our services.
We really like to try and place such cats with new homes and in the main our adopters see beyond these things because of their love of the specific breed concerned. Many people enjoy the challenge in turning around an aggressive or shy cat.
Cats with Other Behavioural Problems
If a cat has behavioural issues such as messing in the home or crying at night, we are familiar with these issues and they are common in special breeds. As such this is no deterrent at all and there will be many suitable homes. Please go ahead and feel comfortable in booking the service.
If an animal is considered to need a behavioural or veterinary report before we rehome him--usually where urination around the home may have an underlying phsyical cause--the owner will be asked to have this done at their own cost. This is necessary for the well-being of the cat, to ensure that a cat with kidney failure or a serious urinary tract issue is not being rehomed to someone without the new owner knowing about the condition. This would cause suffering to the cat.
We will be able to tell from an owner's description of symptomology and behaviour, whether any veteriary report is needed, and this is rare.
Cats Overseas
We are happy to advertise pedigree cats worldwide.
However, we will only accept adoption applicants from the country in which the pet lives, and within reasonable travel distance, so in accepting a cat for the service we would have to believe we had a good chance of him being adopted.
We have very high site visitor numbers from most European countries (Facebook presence ensures this) and also from the United States, so we are confident of rehoming pedigree cats in these countries.
We are less confident of rehoming non-pedigree cats overseas, although in the United States this would not be a problem. If in doubt please email before booking: ask@chapelhouse-persians.co.uk
If we felt any animal was unlikely to be seen due to low numbers of adopters in the country concerned we would refund the booking fee.
Our Adopters
The majority of our adopters are of higher socio-economic groups and are professional people with high income levels. We aren't being snobby when we say this; it's a simple truth.
Possibly this is due to our vetting processes. We are known for our high level of care in the vetting of homes, such that we don't even need to visit the homes because most enquirers are turned down at first sight; the genuine ones, and the knowledgeable ones, stand out right from that first email.
Our Online Reservations system means that adopters will travel to see cats, from all over the UK. Most adopters happily drive in excess of 2.5 hours to see cats so do not necessarily expect that your cat will be placed locally.
When you use the Online Rehoming service, adopters will have to visit you in your home - and they won't make a fuss about that. They'll take it all in their stride.
Most adopters are:
Professional
Affluent
40 and upwards (many retired and self employed professions)
Without children at home
Previous Persian/specific pedigree breed owners
Highly knowledgeable about the breed they are adopting
Living quiet lifestyles ('homebodies' are commonplace among our homes... we prefer this kind of lifestyle especially for Persians)
Not taking many holidays and IF holidaying, not using kennels
Heavy users of quality pet insurance products.
Adoption Fees: Why They Are Necessary
Adopters who take an animal through us must pay a significant Adoption Fee towards the processes involved; some rescues allow pedigree animals to be rehomed against a small 'donation'.
Please be aware that although the Rescues think they are doing the right thing, this is actually endangering the animals because if you do not rehome pedigree cats at above their normal 'market value', unscrupulous buyers may get hold of them and re-sell them for monetary gain. This happens fairly frequently especially with Persian cats. We do not think that pedigree pets should ever be 'donation' animals!
Also, rescues who actually take in and handle pedigree cats should be asking a reasonable donation--well over £100 per animal--because the costs of looking after such cats even short term should be much higher than that. Be wary of 'rescues' which do not charge sizeable fees for pedigree cats; what care have the cats received?
Similarly, if a rescue charges less than £100 per animal, have they really vetted their applicants? If so, why should a rescue or individual who spends the equivalent of several days vetting applicants not receive some offset against their costs? How can people afford it to be 'free' and what does this say about a rescue's quality of checks? How many vets offer their services for free and why is rescue and rehoming of specialist animals any less demanding? As such, some fee is requisite and should be understood. Only the major animal charities who are supported by massive legacies and public donation should be able to afford rehoming for low fee. Otherwise, it's simply a service like any other.
Another factor to be considered is that everyone adopting a pedigree animal MUST be financially secure and able to afford a reasonable contribution, anyway. If they want to 'pay a small donation' to take a pedigree pet, do they have enough funds to support the necessary vet care of the animal if he falls ill, or to supply the ongoing special diet requirements? It costs over £600 per annum to even appropriately feed, let alone vet treat, one single Persian cat. Do they even know what to feed him on?
So we don't agree with pedigree animals going to new homes either against a low donation or 'free to good homes'. It sounds suspicious and very bad practice--all it achieves is for the general public to think 'rescue equals cheap or free' which is totally under-valuing the valuable work we do. Who else trains and works for free?
Finding Outstanding Homes
We find outstanding homes with people whose lives revolve around their pets.
If people take holidays away from home and have no live-in cat sitter, have hectic lifestyles or busy homes, if they still want to have children, are only in their early 20's --where we believe their lifestyles are not adequately settled or predictable--or if they smoke, or lack sufficient cat care or breed-specific knowledge, then they are going to be declined as unsuitable.
It is because of our expertise in finding homes and never having cats returned to us because the match hasn't worked, that branches of national animal organisations, as well as veterinary practices, used to send us their Persians when we did take animals in for physical rehoming.

Book to Use Our Online Rehoming Service
If you are sure that this is what you would like to do, and if there is no great urgency to finding a new home (if it's very urgent we are unlikely to be able to help: the vetting does take at least a few weeks), click the link in the left-hand column to book a 'Website Profile' and pay the admin contribution.
In deciding whether this is the right route for you to take, please consider the following questions:
Do I need to find a home for my cat(s) urgently, i.e. within the next few weeks, because of some major deadline?
Am I sure that I can hand over my cat to an adopter, in my own home, or might I get too emotional about it and change my mind?
If you answered 'No' to any of these three questions, you are probably better off bringing the cat into an actual Rescue Centre for them to do the whole rehoming process from their own premises. Otherwise--if your cat would benefit from being rehomed at home and staying in his cosy, warm and loving environment, and if you'd love to have a say in the choice of his new home--we are happy to let you use our Website Profile via the online service.
