Professional Cat Grooming Tools - Make Life Fluff Free!
Fur Exterminator Grooming Tool, & An Undercoat Stripper Tool
Cheryl-Anne Jenkinson, Chapelhouse Persian Rescue's Owner and Manager says:
These tools make a formidable pair. I've had a collection of matt-prone Persians for 10+ years, and had never used anything like these. I'd avoided tools looking similar to the undercoat stripper, because they looked dangerous. I now know how they're used--and it's easy. So, I've drafted detailed user guides to be emailed with each order.
Photos below show the fluff-mound I took from one of my Persians on the night I first used the tools. Grooming was effortless and quick. This cat would not need any more substantial grooming for several months, since the tools gently stripped most of the undercoat and left the silky top coat, leaving it unable to matt.
Cats soon grow to like these tools; mine have started coming to me for grooming--an amazing result in a very short time, for cats who hated being groomed and used to go to the vets for shaving.
Two of my cats--despite past refusal to be groomed--were no problem with these tools from the start. Cat number 3 is acclimatising and coming to be groomed after 7 years of refusing any form of grooming! Cat number 4 is still something of 'a project' but coming round slowly. Those of you who know me will recognise that this cat is little 'Grubby' the chinchilla, who is very nervous of grooming ever since she seriously injured her tail; she is banned from the vets for even routine matters, as she is so stress prone.
As stated above, I send out a several page grooming instruction leaflet with this set so that you do not harm or stress your cats. The leaflet has been specially prepared by me (Rescue Manager), using all the hints, tips and precautions used with my own Persians. So by buying from our shop, you are not just getting 'manufacturers instructions' from a company that's never tried their products on real animals, which sadly is often the case.
NB: these tools are not for use on badly matted areas of the cat--buy one of our Mini Clippers for these areas first. But they can be used on borderline areas which are thick and woolly, just before they matt.
To address one worry people have: cats once groomed still have long flowing coats, since the top coat remains. Other benefits?
For the first time ever since I owned my cats, I can feel their muscles, bone structure and internal organs. Many Persians suffer enlarged kidneys as well as growths and tumours. Get the coat off to this degree, and you begin to 'feel' your pet, checking for lumps and bumps. Vets will comment on how well groomed your pets are.
After a couple of days of feeling a bit chilly, Persians begin to enjoy the difference and become all kitteny again. Cats who never groomed themselves begin to relish self-maintenance. They can groom without choking on loose fur.
These tools remove the part of the coat that carries most dust and dander, so cat or dog allergies will vastly improve.
Longhaired cats who go in the garden will no longer get embedded debris in their coats. Coat left behind is silky rather than cotton-woolly.
You might shower your pet, safe in the knowledge that a quick blow dry afterwards will get the pet dry without matting. I could never bathe my cats because it was likely their coats would matt and the dense undercoat would take forever to dry. Persians don't enjoy being bathed or showered but it's a good thing to do once a year to ensure good skin health and keep allergens down. And fresh pets feel good about themselves.
The Evidence - This Undercoat from 'Mungo' was removed in a single session, using a combination of the Undercoat Stripper and Fur Exterminator. (Doesn't he look thrilled!). Mungo has waved goodbye to matting.
Buyer Testimonials for the Undercoat Stripper and Fur Exterminator
Carter, MRCVS, Veterinary Surgeon in London, says: Phenomenal. Can't thank you enough for the samples and am more than happy to endorse them. When they arrived, I actually had three Persian cats dropped off in the practice for a strip-out of their matted coats. We managed a full strip-out on three normally fractious animals, with no anaesthetic or sedation. After an initial struggle because they were not used to us doing them without anaesthesia, they settled and were groomed with minimal restraint. And they even purred! Not only do we have one very happy owner, but we have three cats who escaped a traumatic stay and anaesthesia, which we've been giving to the three of them twice a year, for over 5 years now. I would not hesitate to recommend these tools to anyone but would also say to veterinary colleagues: try them out.
Suzanne in Huddersfield says of the Undercoat Stripper: My God! It really works! I groomed her matt free areas with the new tools and its made the prospect of tackling the matts less daunting. It's isolated them. And she loved the new tools. I just very, very lightly did the mussed-up but not yet matted bits and it just started to clear bit by bit. So rare for something to perform so astonishingly well. But everywhere is a mass of floaty fluff. Especially on my face!
Tina in Pembrokeshire, says of the Fur Exterminator: Hello, I used that Exterminator Comb and oh my God, how good is that! My Missie just lay there: I was even able to turn her on her back and do her tummy which she has never allowed me to do before. Honey--the one with the Heart Condition--just lay there for about 15 mins which is a major break through, and she did not moan, in fact I am convinced she loved it.
John, MRCVS, Veterinary Surgeon in Somerset, says: No idea these aren't commonly promoted to vet practices. I ordered a set because they sounded too good to be true. Well, I've never used anything like it - what outstanding results. I'm a total convert and they're more than worth the spend. Please send me ten more pairs which I'll distribute around our own and other practices. If pet owners used these tools on their pets it would save a lot of heartache with pets under unnecessary general anaesthesia, and we can also examine animals much more easily when their coats are in better condition.

Undercoat Stripper - Single Product
Although we recommend you buy these items in a bundle, we're happy selling Undercoat Strippers separately.
The Undercoat Stripper is a professional and sharp grooming tool with hooked blades. We have developed an information leaflet giving you step by step instruction on safe usage. You must follow detailed instructions so do not buy anything similar from a shop, as you will not get a user guide designed around sensitive or nervous pets. This is important, as we have put much time and care into the preparation of our Guide, to keep pets safe in application.
You will be amazed at the results and ease of use. The key is actually very simple; just don't apply any pressure until completely familiar with it. The hooked blades will latch gently onto the fur and remove only the undercoat - without applying any pressure.
Undercoat Stripper With User Instructions: £18
