Donate

We appreciate EVERY donation, including small ones. Please don't feel your sum won't make a difference. It will.

If you have any issues donating via supplied links, here are other ways to give:

  • Paypal users: log into Paypal and click 'send money'.... to email address 'support@chapelhouse-persians.co.uk'.
  • Send a cheque -- email via the Contact Form for the details, for security reasons.
  • Ask for bank details, to make a bank transfer into the Rescue account.

Sorry we're always asking for funds. We're the only rescue helping rescues and vets with Persian and pedigree cat urgent cases!! And we love doing so.....!

But even without this 'external help offered' factor...we have ongoing costs of our own.

It's vital Chapelhouse Persian Rescue continues welcoming new donors.

Or can you help us via 'easyfundraising.org.uk'?

If you cannot afford to donate with a cash sum (and we do understand)...please support us via easyfundraising.org.uk instead? That won't cost a penny but makes a huge difference to us.

This gives us cash income against any normal household and family items you buy online...it's a truly amazing scheme and we love it. The best thing about is is it's easy but also means that if every supporter signed up to it, we would no longer have to ask for money direct.... PLEASE look at it. It could totally reverse our fortunes. The more people USE easyfundraising every time they shop, the more persians we can help....which helps YOU, the public, when you have cat crises that we will want to support.

Note on 22/02/2012

Heartfelt thanks to all donors. The initial target of £850 was exceeded with a huge push from USA ... and so HURRAH, Lilly-Lou can have her referral.

Please note the appeal will stay 'live' as financing for this cat is a moving target, as stated in the original appeal - so do still give.

Lilly in the kitchen (below) - a rare social event as she is usually isolated - on 22/02/2012. Gifts of Puppy Training Pads are in the background....thanks Lynne H! :

Lilly continues to need everyone's support. Referral costs will be higher than we'd envisaged but we won't know 'how much' until she's seen the specialist. Others who have used the same referral centre report bills upwards of £1200, plus of course we have our 'normal' vet bills to keep paying for Lilly on an ad-hoc basis.

See the vet bill for her latest vet visit, on the Home page.

The level of spend on the most recent vet bill for tests (just under £400) was higher than expected and this is only one of many bills for Lilly... funds for this were not included in the appeal. Unexpected costs explain why targets are constantly shifting. Only due to the financial generosity of sponsors can we even consider doing this work for one cat!

We will keep this appeal running until we can finally close the 'Lilly saga' but please all be assured she is now going for the referral as and when the vet is ready to do this.

THANK YOU beyond measure.

Lilly-Lou's Last Tests...

Lilly-Lou, the chinchilla with relentless diarrhoea needs a 'last push' at a final batch of blood tests and referral to a specialist.

We have done everything everyone has suggested, within reason. She is worse if anything as a result. Time to stop trying new things and just let her settle on one path. Please, therefore, don't email new diet and care suggestions at this juncture unless you are a veterinary surgeon. We will always be happy to hear from vets.

With her weight now at 1.6kg and declining, and Lilly visibly sick some days (one day last week I thought we were losing her), and her room spattered with diarrhoea every few minutes, this cannot carry on as it is.

Here are some photos of Lilly's room taken last Thursday before the last vet visit.

Every couple of hours all hygiene pads need changing, doors, sanitaryware and walls washed down. Faeces range from a dark bloody goo to green bile, to watery mucus....nothing like we have ever dealt with in 12 years' prior rescue work.

Lilly is always covered in her own faeces and you can imagine she is sore and smelly...and sometimes depressed.

She is usually on her own because when she is in the house she is clealy uncomfortable and whines to go back to her safe space where the pads cover every surface. Yet she's very lonely and loves visits, so it is the illness that makes her whine to return to her room.

We are using up to 60 hygiene pads a day.

What Next

We are talking probably 2 weeks before her final test results - including liver and pancreatic fuction - will be available - and after that she will be off to Liverpool. If this also cannot help her, then devastatingly she will be need to be euthanased.

We have been overwhelmed with the support, the interest in the case and the advice received.

How Can I Give to Lilly?

If you wish to donate you can do so either via the usual Paypal links via this appeal (best method for us), or by logging in to your Paypal and 'sending money' to 'support@chapelhouse-persians.co.uk' (equally good), or, on this occasion, you may donate directly via our vet.

Donate Via Vet

If you prefer to give via the vet please call Bond Street Veterinary Clinic and ask to make a donation to the account for Lilly-Lou, for the client named Chapelhouse Persian Rescue. Their number is 01625 425637.

Please note we pay 'as we go', ie we cannot amass standing vet bills! This means we CAN only book Lilly in for nything she needs, if the funds are available aready as there is no eeway to raise funds after the event'. So, we need to keep raising funds and the vet will put new funds for Lilly onto her account ready for the next thing she needs - this then means we will be in credit, offering Lilly chance for new treatments whenever we hear of others.

If you happen to speak to someone who doesn't know about this (e.g. new or weekend receptionist) please say it was fully discussed on Thursday with both Jon Harper the vet and with reception staff, and payments can be accepted this way. If you do donate via the vet PLEASE let us know unless you want to give anonymously. But if we know that we have funds, we can buy her the things and treatments she needs.

It is easier for us if you still donate via Paypal because this way we can keep control.

Any amount given via the vet must be paid over the phone by credit or debit card as their accounting system won't accept funds any other way without causing the vet a problem - they don't want people sending cash and cheques.

Thank you for still supporting despite how long this issue has been going on, and how many times we have asked for help so far.
